Requirements
Must:
- Demonstrated experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
- Bachelor of Science degree required; preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline
- Fundamental understanding and hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- Prior field service or customer support experience is essential
- Basic proficiency in Windows operating systems and networking concepts
- Openness to travel up to 20%
- Valid drivers license and dependable mode of transportation
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical conduit between customers and our engineering teams
- Identify and resolve intricate mechanical, electrical, software, and process-related concerns
- Diagnose and troubleshoot industrial machinery and software issues at customer locations
- Offer on-site and remote engineering assistance to reduce customer downtime
- Support clients with network configuration and administration, including Windows and database server setup
- Maintain service activity documentation and comprehensive service logs
- Provide customer training on our software products as necessary
- Execute services in alignment with company policies, procedures, and service manuals
- Elevate technical issues and suggest enhancements to maintain quality standards
Description
We are a leading provider of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment, looking for a Field Support Engineer based in Houston, TX. This role primarily involves supporting local client sites, with the flexibility of working from a home office when not in the field. We offer a detailed six-month training program for new hires to familiarize them with our products and fundamental concepts. The position entails significant field service work within the Houston area, as well as occasional travel outside the state.
