Requirements
Must:
- Masters degree in Information Technology or Business Administration, or a Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience as a software developer
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cognos Analytics or Tableau
- Experience in applying data warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts with data modeling and reporting tools
- Proficiency in Oracle development tools including Oracle Developer Suite 10g/11g, SQL Developer, and SQL
- Experience writing functions, packages, procedures, triggers, and views in Oracle PL/SQL for database development
- Familiarity with Cognos installations, configurations, performance tuning, security settings, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Experience in development and implementation, including diagnosing and resolving technical issues
- Ability to manage deployments and migrations of Cognos content across environments
- Experience working on IBM Cognos implementations and automated testing using Motio
- Proficiency in at least one ETL tool: Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Informatica, or SSIS
- Skills in designing and tuning relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or Snowflake)
- Ability to handle and support patches and upgrades in a production environment
- Experience developing interfaces and integrations for data migration between on-premises or cloud-based systems
- Skills in user acceptance testing, data validation, and documentation
Responsibilities
- Develop data models, reports, dashboards, and analytics utilizing knowledge of key software
- Collaborate effectively with team members to extract insights and enhance data-driven decision-making
- Implement and maintain data architecture in Cognos and related tools
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries and PL/SQL functions for effective database management
- Conduct performance tuning and ensure optimal operation of Cognos environments
- Facilitate user acceptance testing and ensure quality through meticulous data validation
- Manage technical issues and provide solutions to preserve data integrity and security
- Oversee the deployment of Cognos content and its migration across various environments
- Engage in automatic testing and continuous improvement practices for Cognos solutions
- Maintain thorough documentation of processes and projects completed
