Requirements
Must:
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience with a BSEE/BSCS or equivalent background.
- Recent involvement in radio network design, implementation, and/or tuning/optimization systems is essential.
- Leadership experience over five or more projects required; must have led two significant projects with full technical responsibilities in major metropolitan or statewide areas.
- Proven ability in communication with teams, project managers, and clients.
- Familiarity with various services including 5G NR, Massive MIMO, mmWave, LAA, 4G LTE, IoT, CBRS, and multi-vendor environments.
- Knowledge of layer 3 messaging for 4G and 5G technologies.
- Competence in performing event analysis to address accessibility, retainability, and handover success rates.
- Extensive experience with planning tools such as Planet EV and Atoll.
- In-depth understanding of link budgets and project creation inputs in planning tools.
- Prior use of the Automatic Cell Planning (ACP) tool.
- Ability to recommend improvements for network designs (cell plans).
- Proficiency in Monte Carlo Analysis.
- Adept at identifying sales opportunities and tuning recommendations based on drive test data.
- Strong grasp of optimization tools like TEMS Investigation, Actix, Agilent, and R&S.
- Experience in tuning networks under real traffic scenarios and understanding its impact on performance.
- Ability to collect and analyze drive data and performance statistics to resolve complex issues.
- Awareness of how IRAT procedures affect overall network quality.
- Understanding the implications of adding carriers, especially for 5G optimization.
- Capable of implementing and experimenting with RAN features in traffic analysis.
- Knowledge of the relationship between handovers and network capacity, and how to optimize both.
- Familiar with Ericsson ENM and associated optimization tools.
- Strong knowledge of KPIs and methods to enhance them.
- Expertise in LTE/5G optimization techniques.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee technical activities for radio network design and optimization projects.
- Conduct thorough event analysis and resolve accessibility and performance issues.
- Utilize planning and optimization tools to enhance project outcomes effectively.
- Recommend improvements to network designs through data analysis and strategic proposals.
- Collaborate with various Ericsson departments to align projects and customer requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress and performance metrics.
- Travel extensively across the US to manage and oversee assignments as needed.
- Provide consistent updates and communication to team members, project managers, and clients.
- Conduct training sessions to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Identify opportunities for additional service offerings based on client needs and network performance.
