Requirements
Must:
- Proficient in CAD software (Creo) for design and drafting
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Capable of analyzing tolerance stack-ups and integrating them into designs
- Experienced in using Windchill/PDM Link for CAD file management and change control
- Knowledgeable in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques
- Skilled in evaluating heat transfer and structural phenomena through sound analysis methods
- Results-driven with a focus on adherence to project timelines
- Highly organized with excellent project management skills
- Able to work independently and as a self-starter
- Three to five years of design experience in an OEM manufacturing setting
- At least three years of experience with parametric CAD software
- Background in sheet metal design and weldments is essential
- Familiarity with heat exchanger products and brazing processes is a plus
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is required
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customer-focused designs with minimal supervision
- Specify materials and conduct structural analysis regarding design robustness, cost, and associated risks
- Lead Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) sessions with cross-functional teams including Logistics, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Suppliers, and Tooling/Fixtures
- Apply the Quality Process Control (QPC) as per IATF-16949 standards
- Serve as the technical liaison to support sales initiatives while cultivating customer relationships
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Assist manufacturing with prototyping and production launches when necessary
- Guide designer and drafter contributions toward project objectives
- Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as directed or defined by the department
