Requirements
Must:
- I require candidates to have over 6 years of experience in automation engineering, particularly focusing on API testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Selenium frameworks is essential.
- Proficiency in API testing methodologies and validation strategies is necessary.
- Expertise in Jira for defect tracking and test management is important.
- A working knowledge of AWS services related to API hosting, monitoring, or testing is expected.
- A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and the integration of automated tests is crucial.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities are a must.
Responsibilities
- I need you to design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for backend API testing using Java and Selenium.
- Build and execute thorough API test cases encompassing functional, regression, and performance aspects.
- Utilize tools like Jira to manage test cases, track defects, and ensure traceability.
- Integrate API automation into CI/CD pipelines for seamless execution.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA to define automation strategies and enhance product quality.
- You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members in automation best practices.
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis of test execution results, ensuring that issues are identified and quickly resolved.
Description
While experience with additional test automation frameworks (such as Postman/Newman and Karate) is considered a bonus, familiarity with performance testing of APIs and experience with containerized environments (like Docker and Kubernetes) would be advantageous. Knowledge of agile methodologies and DevOps practices is also appreciated. This position is a full-time contracting role, allowing for remote work. The pay starts at $60,000.00 per year, and benefits include paid time off. As part of the application process, I will ask for your expected annual salary in CAD.
