Requirements
Must:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred
- One year of mechanical or electronic engineering experience is desirable
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer service setting, particularly phone-based roles
- Experience in managing customer accounts and documenting interactions, inquiries, and feedback
- Familiarity with inventory control or parts inventory is advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Sage 100, Solid Works Composer, and Adobe applications like InDesign and Photoshop is beneficial
- Understanding of using digital voltmeters, temperature meters, manometers, and other data gathering tools is helpful
- Familiarity with our products and food service equipment is a plus
Responsibilities
- Receive service requests from end-users, customer care teams, sales representatives, and field technicians regarding equipment issues
- Provide problem-solving assistance over the phone whenever possible
- Schedule service calls with third-party agencies for unresolved user problems
- Offer support to third-party service personnel conducting field repairs via telephone
- Log all service calls, including those handled by third-party technicians, for tracking and historical reference
- Manage the shipment of repair parts to end-users or third-party agencies and ensure all necessary documentation is completed for accurate billing and inventory management
- Adhere to training and established procedures during job performance
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and documentation
- Escalate customer issues related to our commercial food appliances following departmental protocols
- Engage in limited travel to customer sites for repairs or equipment upgrades, with the availability to be on the road for 1 to 2 days
- Provide minimal online training to customers and service personnel as needed
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including compliance training and proper PPE usage
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned
Description
We are currently seeking a Technical Service Representative to join our team, providing essential customer and technical support over the phone for our AccuTemp products and commercial cooking equipment. This full-time position is located in New Haven, IN, and offers a competitive pay starting at $21.00 per hour, along with benefits such as 401(k) with matching, dental and health insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.
