Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with DO-178 or DO-254 demonstrating software quality assurance expertise.
- At least 11 years of relevant experience in aerospace or defense industry software processes (including RTCA DO-178c, RTCA 278a, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498, etc).
- Experience working on government-related projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with FAA projects is also preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques.
- Basic knowledge of software development and testing methodologies.
- Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, and contracts for system and software process development and review.
- Experience in software requirements development as well as design and coding in C/C++, Ada, or other embedded programming languages.
- Background or knowledge in embedded software/hardware verification.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation, and technical writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with systems and software development teams, test and evaluation staff, and project managers.
- Work effectively within a team, demonstrating excellent customer interaction and interpersonal abilities.
- Quickly understand the software process auditor responsibilities, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestones.
- Review and approve systems, software, and test equipment requirements and design documentation to ensure conformance to process standards.
- Engage with engineering teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal standards.
- Participate in software change control processes and boards.
- Potential for moderate travel to support program activities and software supplier audits.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior staff as necessary.
