Requirements
Must:
- 7+ years of professional experience in Node.js development
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
- Extensive experience with Express.js or comparable frameworks
- Solid understanding of RESTful API principles, with preference for GraphQL
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficient in databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols (JWT, OAuth)
- Hands-on experience with cloud deployment and serverless technologies
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic, Agile environment
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices utilizing Node.js and Express.js
- Create clean, well-documented, and efficient code following industry best practices
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other team members to deliver cohesive solutions
- Enhance application performance, scalability, and security
- Implement authentication, authorization, and data validation mechanisms
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior team members
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services
- Deploy and monitor applications using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments
- Document API designs and technical specifications
- Stay informed of the latest industry developments and incorporate cutting-edge solutions

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Node.js API Developer to join our team, with positions available in Sterling, VA and Nashville, TN. This 6-month contract-to-hire role involves crafting and refining scalable and secure backend systems.
