Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master and Business Analyst in the Property and Casualty insurance sector
- Strong knowledge of P&C insurance processes, including underwriting, policy administration, claims processing, ratemaking, and risk assessment
- Familiarity with insurance software platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Vertafore, or similar
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation capabilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Knowledge of insurance data analytics and reporting tools
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and other domain experts to gather and document business needs and workflows within the P&C insurance sector
- Gather, analyze, and convert business requirements into comprehensive functional specifications and user stories for the development teams
- Conduct gap analysis to pinpoint areas for process enhancement and system upgrades
- Support the design, testing, and rollout of P&C insurance solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
- Assist in creating data models, workflows, and reports relevant to insurance operations
- Facilitate communication among stakeholders, project teams, and vendors to ensure a shared understanding and successful project delivery
- Uphold regulatory compliance, risk management, and audit requirements by ensuring systems and processes adhere to industry standards
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies within the P&C insurance domain
Description
We are looking for an accomplished Business Analyst with a solid foundation in the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance domain. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, gathering requirements, analyzing processes, and promoting solutions to enhance our insurance operations, including underwriting, claims management, and policy administration. This is a hybrid role based in Glen Allen/Richmond, VA, where youll contribute to a dynamic team in a W2 contract position.
