Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience in architectural design and networking
- Proficiency in application development
- In-depth knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and application stacks
- Familiarity with VMware, Cisco, and HP server technologies
- Expertise in Sun SPARC systems and Oracle RAC
- Knowledge of Dell/EMC products and mainframe networking
- Experience with various operating systems including Oracle Linux, Sun Solaris, and Windows Server
- Proficiency in database management with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
- Familiarity with .NET technologies
- Experience in archival data retrieval and management systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both virtual and physical environments
- Knowledge of high-performance storage and compute solutions
- Ability to respond to urgent support requests 24/7
Responsibilities
- Serve as the ITD/CVISN Systems Architect for MDOT
- Integrate commercial vehicle registration, permitting, and enforcement systems
- Provide architectural guidance and attend architecture meetings monthly
- Retrieve and manage archival data from the MDOT Automated Permit System
- Compute statistics and reports for various departments
- Manage approximately 500 Windows and Linux-based servers across the state
- Deploy and troubleshoot operating system and application issues
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of Dell/EMC storage systems
- Ensure operational integrity of Cisco and HP server infrastructures
- Manage VMware vSphere installations and troubleshoot related issues
- Maintain backup and recovery systems using Veeam technologies
- Handle operational management for Oracle servers in a RAC environment
- Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting for network issues
- Facilitate datacenter failover processes and emergency responses
- Oversee UPS power systems maintenance and repair
- Troubleshoot streaming video issues and perform capacity management
- Manage data for storage repositories and ensure system reliability
