Requirements
Must:
- A four-year degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
- At least five years of direct experience in creating Azure environments and migrating systems and services from on-premises to the cloud.
- Minimum five years of experience specifically as an Azure Solutions Architect.
- A minimum of five years in DevOps engineering roles.
- Over five years of experience in making cloud security, privacy, and compliance decisions.
- Five or more years of network administration experience.
- Proficiency in documentation and knowledge transfer practices.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, along with effective knowledge transfer abilities.
- Experience with mainframe administration, including zLinux, Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE, AI and machine learning, and application monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Lead the agencys Azure cloud initiatives by designing and supervising the implementation of public cloud solutions.
- Establish strategies and policies for cloud usage within the organization.
- Facilitate the migration of enterprise systems, including the state payroll system (SPAHRS), from zLinux mainframes to secure cloud platforms.
- Develop Azure-based IaaS and PaaS solutions tailored to agency needs.
- Implement automation tools for provisioning, configuration management, and lifecycle operations.
- Ensure robust cloud governance, security measures, and compliance with regulations.
- Integrate hybrid environments and manage containerized workloads effectively.
- Provide expert guidance in Windows Server, Linux, and legacy system migrations to ensure successful cloud adoption.
- Take on both strategic and hands-on roles in designing enterprise-level architectures and overseeing their implementation.
- Support knowledge transfer to DFA staff for the long-term management and sustainability of cloud services.
