Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electronics, Laser Technology, Engineering, or relevant technical experience
- 3-5 years of experience in technical support, service, or a customer-facing technical role preferred
- Proficient in managing a high volume of phone and email technical support inquiries
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Capable of prioritizing and handling multiple support cases at once
- Familiar with computer systems and software applications, including Word, Excel, and CRM/service platforms (Salesforce preferred)
- Strong ability to work independently while also effectively collaborating with a team
- Experience in the medical devices or regulated industries is a plus
Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for incoming technical support calls and emails
- Provide remote technical assistance and troubleshooting for laser systems, components, and associated systems
- Identify and resolve basic equipment issues without onsite field service intervention when feasible
- Assess when to escalate issues to a Field Service Engineer and coordinate accordingly with the service dispatcher
- Log all customer interactions, troubleshooting actions, and outcomes in the service management system
- Keep thorough and precise service records
- Assist customers with basic operational inquiries, system setup tips, and preventative maintenance guidance
- Aid the Field Service Manager in prioritizing incoming service requests
- Work closely with Field Service Engineers to ensure seamless support and effective case handoff
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to uphold high service standards
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of technical support documents, FAQs, and troubleshooting manuals
- Recognize recurring issues and relay trends to the Field Service Manager and service team
- Comply with all company safety regulations, service protocols, and documentation guidelines
- Maintain company tools, software, and diagnostic equipment used for support
- Undertake additional tasks and projects assigned by management
