Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is highly preferred.
- Practical experience in designing embedded electronics based on ESP32-class microcontrollers or similar processors.
- Strong background in power system design, specifically for battery-operated devices, charging circuits, and power management systems.
- Proven experience in creating PCB schematics and layouts for compact, high-density circuit boards.
- Comprehensive understanding of mixed-signal electronics, including analog-to-digital conversions and signal conditioning techniques.
- Familiarity with board-level communication interfaces and serial protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
- Proficient in diagnosing hardware and firmware interaction issues using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and embedded diagnostics.
- Excellent analytical skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex system challenges.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across firmware, hardware, testing, and manufacturing teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to developing reliable, production-ready electronic devices.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce embedded electronic hardware for industrial sensor platforms, overseeing the entire lifecycle from initial concept to production readiness.
- Generate and maintain detailed schematics, choose suitable components, and create PCB layouts for compact embedded circuit boards, ensuring signal integrity, energy efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Develop and validate designs using embedded processors like the ESP32 series, along with associated components such as ADCs, power regulation systems, battery management solutions, and peripheral interfaces.
- Construct prototypes and conduct validation testing using laboratory instruments, in-system diagnostics, and iterative debugging methods.
- Collaborate closely with firmware developers to integrate hardware with multiple firmware versions, facilitating new features and diagnosing system-level behavior.
- Create specialized firmware utilities for diagnostics and validation, including logging hooks, input validation functions, and test utilities to expedite hardware integration and troubleshooting.
- Work with internal testing, manufacturing, and field teams to enhance product designs based on operational data, reliability assessments, and customer feedback in the field.
- Support production readiness and participate in ongoing engineering tasks as devices transition to mass production.
- Engage in continuous improvement of deployed hardware through structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
