Requirements
Must:
- We require 3+ years of experience in a regulated quality systems environment, ideally within healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device settings.
- We prefer experience in data center operations, facilities engineering, or support for critical infrastructure.
- We require demonstrated hands-on experience with facilities, utilities, or equipment qualification and compliance.
- We need strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and consultative skills, with the ability to collaborate across Facilities, IT, and Quality functions.
- We require knowledge of regulations and standards that impact the healthcare industry.
- We require a bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
- We expect excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both IT leadership and frontline staff.
- We value the ability to determine objectives, methods, and solutions with significant independence while maintaining compliance.
Responsibilities
- We provide quality oversight and compliance leadership for regulated data center facilities, utilities, and equipment supporting healthcare and GxP-related IT operations.
- We ensure our data center infrastructure is operated, maintained, and controlled in line with regulatory, corporate, and quality expectations.
- We partner with Facilities Engineering, Data Center Operations, IT Infrastructure, Quality, and Safety teams to maintain inspection readiness and dependable critical environments.
- We oversee commissioning, qualification, and requalification activities for data center systems and equipment.
- We review and approve lifecycle records, including installation, operational, and performance qualification protocols, as well as maintenance and calibration documentation.
- We ensure regulated infrastructure remains in a validated and compliant state throughout its lifecycle.
- We establish, implement, and sustain production and process controls for facilities, utilities, and equipment that support regulated IT operations.
- We provide quality review and approval for changes affecting regulated data center facilities, utilities, or equipment.
- We verify that facilities- and equipment-related documentation is complete, accurate, and ready for inspection.
- We assess nonconformances, CAPA items, deviations, incidents, excursions, and infrastructure-related events that may affect environmental or system integrity.
- We drive timely investigations, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action development, and effectiveness verification.
- We support and participate in internal audits, supplier audits, and regulatory inspections involving data center infrastructure.
- We perform compliance work using standard methods, processes, and tools to support IT quality and regulatory adherence.
- We implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
- We apply a risk-based approach without compromising compliance.
- We contribute to process improvement efforts, metrics collection and analysis, and adherence to Abbott practices.
- We create, review, and approve quality documentation supporting quality activities.
- We set project tasks and timelines and remain accountable for delivery.
- We identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
