Requirements

Must:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in AR/VR, interaction design, product design, or spatial UX. - Comprehensive understanding of spatial computing concepts, ergonomics, and user workflows in 3D settings. - Proficiency in using Unity or Unreal for interaction prototyping. - Capability to storyboard user interactions, convey system logic, and design straightforward user pathways. - Comfortable handling CAD or 3D assets for layout and interaction purposes.

Responsibilities

- Design user interactions, workflows, and behaviors for AR/VR applications, emphasizing clarity and real-world usability. - Create logical spatial layouts that facilitate task completion without the need for complex model creation. - Define engagement patterns (gaze, gesture, controller, hand tracking) and specify user interactions with objects and information. - Develop prototypes ranging from low to mid fidelity in Unity/Unreal or XR tools to quickly validate interactions. - Collaborate with developers to implement interactive features, enhance UX patterns, and assess feasibility. - Iterate on designs based on feedback from users, subject matter experts (SMEs), and engineering teams. - Work closely with engineers, instructional designers, and AR/VR developers to convert workflows and technical processes into intuitive immersive experiences. - Provide design guidelines, annotated mockups, and interaction specifications for developers. - Clearly communicate design intent and advocate for user-centric spatial solutions. - Import and organize existing CAD models and 3D assets into functional AR/VR scenes. - Identify asset requirements and liaise with 3D artists when higher-fidelity models are needed, without being responsible for full asset creation. - Optimize environment layouts for usability and performance (scale, affordances, lighting, navigation flow). - Generate UX specifications, interaction schematics, layout standards, and behavioral documentation. - Contribute to a cohesive design language for AR/VR applications that can be utilized across various training and operational scenarios. - Apply effective user research methodologies to identify challenges and guide design decisions. - Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to ensure designs effectively address real-world challenges.
