Research Development Engineer - R&D Technologies

- Research, develop, and test new design concepts for recording instrumentation based on requests from senior management and power company engineers - Innovate and design new features for existing products in response to feedback from protection and control engineers - Enhance current products to increase their reliability for prolonged operation in demanding environments - Define and supervise type testing in collaboration with internal and third-party laboratories - Ensure cost-effective manufacturing solutions for newly developed products and present findings to senior management - Create computer hardware designs to be used alongside recording instruments - Develop software for network communication and data recording, interfacing directly with hardware - Test and document new installation procedures and improvements for equipment - Select and configure operating systems or microcontrollers essential for optimal function of recording and power quality equipment - Design software for data analysis from recorders, ensuring it is both application and web-based - Utilize mathematical theories to process and derive meaningful data from incoming signals - Attend industry conferences to stay updated on scientific trends and required instrumentation - Program using C++, C#/.NET, Assembly, and CSHARP - Communicate with customers to clarify the operational theory and functionality of our equipment - Collaborate with vendors and contractors for project execution - Report on R&D project progress and provide strategic timelines to senior management - Supervise and provide technical support to other engineers while enhancing manufacturing tools and software across the organization
