Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering
- Over 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, and technical supervisory roles.
- ASQ – CQE / CSQP or CQA certification is preferred.
- Masters Degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Trade Certification, such as Certified Quality Engineer, is preferred.
- Proven track record in evaluating and developing quality initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with teams of technicians and/or engineers.
- Strong understanding of quality processes, procedures, and tools (SPC, Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis).
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Mini-tab.
- Expertise in geometric dimensioning, trigonometry, and tolerance, including mistake-proof concepts.
- Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D or 5P.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve deadlines and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the quality department.
- Employ statistical tools to assess suppliers and manufacturing operations.
- Perform root cause analysis for supplier defects that reach the production line to identify quality issues and enact corrective and preventive measures.
- Utilize data analysis via computer systems and prepare reports for management review.
- Evaluate quality analysis findings and suggest necessary modifications to quality procedures.
- Complete and/or review supplier PPAPs as needed.
- Act as a liaison with suppliers to ensure quality standards and prompt resolution of any quality concerns.
- Generate and analyze reports related to rejected or defective products.
- Lead assigned QA projects and teams to achieve established goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations for technicians and/or engineers within your team and provide input for recruitment needs.
- Notify the Quality Assurance Manager of serious or recurring quality issues.
- Carry out quality analysis on selected products or processes if required.
- Undertake any additional tasks as directed or necessary.
