Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- Over 3 years of relevant experience or training
- ASQ certifications such as CQE, CSQP, or CQA are preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturing, quality control, and technical skills
- Masters Degree in Engineering is desirable
- Relevant trade certifications, such as Certified Quality Engineer, are preferred
- Proven ability to assess and develop quality improvement initiatives
- In-depth knowledge and application of Quality processes, procedures, and tools (e.g., SPC, Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficient in software applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Mini-tab
- Expertise in geometric dimensioning, trigonometry, tolerance, and mistake-proofing concepts
- Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies like 8D or 5P
- Capability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve objectives
Responsibilities
- Oversee the coordination of Receiving Inspectors activities
- Ensure maintenance of incoming inspection protocols and train inspectors accordingly
- Apply statistical methods to assess supplier defects
- Perform root cause analyses of supplier defects affecting production to identify quality issues and implement corrective and preventative measures
- Utilize data acquisition systems to analyze information and generate management reports
- Evaluate quality analysis findings and suggest necessary adjustments to quality protocols
- Complete and/or review supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation
- Act as a liaison with suppliers to guarantee quality and prompt resolution of quality concerns
- Prepare and review reports on rejected or defective items
- Lead or participate in assigned Quality Assurance projects/teams to achieve targets
- Provide insights for performance evaluations of technicians and/or engineers within the designated team and support hiring needs
- Report any serious or recurring quality issues to the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Assurance Manager
- Potentially conduct quality analyses on specific product or process categories
- Engage in any additional tasks as required or directed
