Requirements
Must:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud, or platform engineering.
- Familiarity with Docker containers and their security measures.
- Experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration systems.
- Proven track record in securing CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices in development workflows.
- Knowledge of container image scanning and runtime security methodologies.
- Background in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in Docker management and hardening techniques.
- Skills in Kubernetes security and cluster administration.
- Expertise in container vulnerability scanning and remediation processes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
- Proficient with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Knowledge of secrets management and secure configuration practices.
- Experience in Linux system administration and scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and oversee container and cloud security frameworks.
- Ensure security for containerized applications and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Enforce security protocols across CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes.
- Fortify container images and manage vulnerability assessments and remediation.
- Develop and uphold automated security checks within build and deployment pipelines.
- Facilitate secure deployment and monitoring of microservices and container workloads.
- Apply runtime security controls and policy enforcement in Kubernetes settings.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and take action on remediation across DevOps environments.
Description
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to partner with a federal client in enhancing security within containerized environments, orchestration platforms, CI/CD workflows, and cloud infrastructure. This role involves designing, executing, and maintaining security practices and tools throughout the DevOps lifecycle, focusing on secure continuous integration and deployment. Collaboration with development, operations, and cybersecurity teams is essential to ensure compliance with federal security protocols and enhance platform robustness. This position is based in Washington, DC, with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence one day a week.
