Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma/GED is mandatory; Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- At least five (5) years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps, or similar position is beneficial.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C#) for scripting and automation tasks.
- Solid grasp of system design, networking, and distributed systems principles, with familiarity in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Practical experience administering Azure, coupled with a strong understanding of core Azure services, workloads, subscriptions, and security.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code automation technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Familiarity with scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, CLI, Bash) and expertise in formulating and implementing disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.
- Relevant certifications related to cloud platforms and DevOps practices are a plus; Azure DevOps Engineer, Solution Architect, and/or Support Engineer certifications are highly desired.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools for observability and performance analysis (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Data Explorer, Splunk, Grafana, Opsgenie).
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
- Capability to function effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills (both written and verbal), effectively engaging with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, refine, and implement automation tools and frameworks to boost speed, reliability, and efficiency of Azure-hosted services.
- Establish and uphold monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols to ensure timely detection and resolution of issues, proactively addressing challenges before they affect users.
- Work collaboratively with software development teams to conceive and implement applications with a keen emphasis on reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventative strategies to mitigate similar issues in the future.
- Engage in capacity planning and scaling tactics to support growing user demands and increasing workloads.
- Define service level indicators, objectives, and agreements to consistently evaluate and manage system performance, ensuring service quality meets organizational requirements.
- Continuously enhance deployment pipelines and apply best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Remain updated on industry developments and emerging technologies, integrating those that are relevant into our organizational practices.
- Provide mentorship and direction to junior engineers, actively sharing knowledge within the team.
