Requirements
Must:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Willingness to undergo a CI Polygraph
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field with 10–11 years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree with 8–10 years of relevant experience
- At least 5 years of experience in designing and deploying enterprise-scale security solutions
- DoD 8140 IAT Level III–equivalent certification (e.g., SecurityX, CISSP, CCNP Security, CISA, GCED, GCIH, or CCSP)
- Proven expertise with Special Access Programs (SAP)
- Strong understanding of JSIG and its application in RMF authorization
- Experience in manually authoring RMF/JSIG artifacts without reliance on automated tools (eMASS, Xacta, etc.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of RMF, ICD 503, NIST SP 800-53, DCID 6/3, or current DoD authorization practices
- Hands-on experience with security assessments on Linux systems and command-line validation as needed
- Familiarity with security tools such as Splunk Enterprise, HBSS, McAfee ePO, ENS, and DLP
- Demonstrated security engineering experience across Linux, Windows, Cisco platforms, databases (SQL or Oracle), and virtualized environments
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy enterprise-level security frameworks for Special Access Program (SAP) systems
- Implement JSIG requirements for system authorization and control documentation
- Manually develop RMF/JSIG authorization documentation, including SSPs, control narratives, and POA&Ms
- Conduct hands-on security assessments of Linux and Windows systems, including command-line audits and compliance evaluations
- Analyze results from security scans, identify vulnerabilities, and assist in remediation planning and execution
- Validate and configure host-based firewalls and security settings in collaboration with system administrators
- Oversee and document POA&Ms through mitigation, remediation, or risk acceptance
- Ensure ongoing system compliance through continual monitoring of controls and documentation
- Identify security weaknesses and offer actionable recommendations for remediation
- Support system recovery and security oversight after incidents or outages
- Participate in change management processes, assessing security implications for SAP systems
- Assist in security investigations, incident response, and remediation operations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate security requirements into system design and production releases
