Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 10 years in software development with a proven track record of bringing multiple applications from conception to production.
- Proven experience in delivering projects within budget and deadlines.
- Experienced in managing various codebases with differing levels of refinement.
- Familiar with Linux environments, preferably embedded Linux.
- Capable of leading software projects while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Proficient in C/C++ (C++17 and standard library) in a Linux operating system.
- Knowledgeable in Git, GitHub, and/or GitLab.
- Experienced with CMake and/or Make.
- Skilled in writing unit tests and understanding code-coverage tools and analytics.
- Proficient with Visual Studio Code or Eclipse.
- Quick to navigate and comprehend existing codebases, identifying patterns.
- Ability to pinpoint software architecture and process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Familiarity with best practices for the software development lifecycle.
- Professional demeanor while representing AED in interactions with staff, vendors, clients, and the public.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without needing future sponsorship.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from initial requirement discussions through development, deployment, and final validation of your contributions, including post-delivery support.
- Collaborate closely with firmware and hardware engineers to seamlessly integrate software components into electronic products.
- Develop build scripts, application code, unit tests in C++, as well as deployment scripts and relevant documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within existing software applications, particularly focusing on hardware interactions.
- Design and implement new features, refactor existing code, and enhance software system architecture based on project specifications and device documentation.
- Address customer requests by delivering simple and effective solutions with minimal supervision and oversight.
