Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in utility construction, telecommunications, structured cabling, or electrical infrastructure estimating is essential.
- At least 5 years of experience managing projects for data centers or other mission-critical facilities is required.
- Extensive familiarity with Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) modeling is a must.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver's license is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site assessments to evaluate project conditions and risks.
- Review RFPs, design drawings, and technical specifications for new projects.
- Conduct material and labor takeoffs for OSP/ISP systems.
- Create detailed, accurate, and thorough cost estimates for data center projects, covering all stages from conceptual design to final construction.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to discern the scope of work, materials, and labor requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to clarify project requirements and constraints.
- Solicit and assess bids from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
- Develop proposal documentation and present formal bid proposals, including scope clarifications and assumptions, along with detailed cost and schedule breakdowns.
- Maintain estimating tools and historical pricing databases.
- Formulate and implement estimating strategies to improve competitiveness and enhance bid success rates.
- Establish and uphold a comprehensive database of historical project costs and market trends to guide future estimates.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, offering strategic input on potential projects.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Recognize potential risks and opportunities associated with each project, formulating contingency plans and strategies accordingly.
- Conduct detailed cost-benefit analyses and value engineering studies to optimize project designs and budgets.
- Ensure all estimates adhere to industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

We look for candidates with extensive data center construction experience, including analyzing and modeling costs for Network Design/Build and cabling, and a strong track record of leading teams and winning competitive bids.
