Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

- Conduct thorough audits of medical records to ensure correct assignment of CPT codes. - Confirm that chosen CPT and ICD-10 codes are substantiated by clinical documentation. - Prepare and present audit reports that include findings and analyses. - Keep up-to-date audit logs while meeting productivity targets. - Execute biannual audits for established provider medical records. - Verbally and in writing, relay findings to providers, offering recommendations for enhanced documentation. - Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Manager to create resources that aid in improving documentation by physicians. - Lead both formal and informal educational sessions on coding standards and documentation requirements for healthcare providers. - Advocate for the importance of thorough and precise clinical documentation. - Provide training to new revenue cycle team members regarding coding and documentation standards. - Assist the Revenue Cycle Manager in assessing coding practices and team performance as necessary. - Offer coding support as needed and fulfill coding responsibilities as part of the role. - Engage in coding and compliance initiatives as assigned within the scope of the position.
