Requirements
Must:
- 0-2 years of experience in IT customer service
- Basic knowledge of computer concepts including PC fundamentals and operating systems
- Familiarity with support procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and analytical thinking
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Information Technology or relevant certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Net+, or CCNA) are preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 technical support for inbound events, such as calls, incidents, chats, and alerts
- Log interactions accurately in the company’s incident management system
- Perform diagnosis and troubleshooting for known issues
- Escalate tickets as per departmental guidelines when issues remain unresolved
- Maintain a foundational understanding of supported hardware and software, alongside operational procedures
- Manage non-phone/chat tasks, assist with alerts, and follow up on open incidents
- Work under general instruction for routine tasks and receive detailed guidance from senior team members and Service Desk Leadership for new initiatives
Description
We are a committed team located in Louisville, KY, offering a remote position for an IT Help Desk Specialist. Candidates must be local to participate in a fully onsite 3-week training program to begin their assignment. This is a W2 contract role with a competitive pay rate of $20.00 per hour, and we value excellent customer service while striving to resolve 70% of inquiries during the first contact.
