Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field with substantial industry experience (7-15 years)
- Technical Masters degree with some industry experience (2-12 years) or relevant Ph.D. (0-7 years)
- Proven ability to conduct requirements analysis focused on electrical performance and mechanical constraints
- Experience defining system architecture including sizing and cell selection
- Knowledge of supporting requirements such as Functional Safety, OBD2, and software compliance
- Ability to provide clear technical guidance to teams and stakeholders
- Experience leading the specification and design of complex battery components
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
- Strong presentation skills for customer engagement and negotiation
- Excellent organizational skills for managing Bills of Material and engineering efforts
- Experience in leading prototype builds to meet testing and customer requirements
- Preferred experience in multinational project management and battery systems (Li-Io, Na-Ion)
Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements for projects concerning electrical and mechanical specifications
- Define the system architecture, including selecting battery cells and electronic hardware
- Manage sub-system support requirements such as Functional Safety and process compliance
- Communicate technical direction to designers and engineers across various locations
- Spearhead the design process for battery components, balancing trade-offs for optimal performance
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement DFM principles
- Present system concepts to customers and negotiate any requirement deviations
- Manage the overall system Bill of Material, focusing on cost reductions and value engineering
- Plan engineering and testing efforts effectively
- Oversee prototype builds to ensure they align with testing intents and customer specifications
